So I just watched Jazmine Sullivan's new music video for "Holding You Down" and I'm really feeling it. Even though it's very simplistic and nothing really groundbreaking it definitely goes with the song. Not everything has to be over the top. TNB Remembers Aaliyah...Janurary 16, 1979- August 25, 2001

Nine years ago today, the world was taken by shock when Aaliyah Dana Haughton had passed. I remember when this happened, I was in 8th grade. I didn't take the news well at all because Aaliyah was one of my favorites. But I just wanted to take this time on my blog to remember her. I've always loved Aaliyah not only for her music, but also because she just seemed to have such a warm spirit. Her music is timeless so lets celebrate her legacy. Jazmine's Bacckkkkkkk!

Yay! One of my favorites, Jazmine Sullivan, is back with a new single titled "Holding You Down." Uhh I basically love everything she does so yea...lol..I just love her voice. I think she has one of the best voices in the industry and I'm glad she is mainstream because her talent deserves to be out there. I say that because I discovered Jazmine online a few years ago before everyone else really knew about her. But anywho, I first heard this song on 92Q or it may have been WKYS (can't remember) a few weeks ago and I love it. I can't wait to hear more songs from the album. Check out "Holding You Down" below. Eminem ft. Rihanna-Love the Way You Lie

So uhh I'm not even going to lie and claim to be a huge Eminem fan, however I'm sort of obsessed with this song lol. Also the music video is pretty cool too with all the effects. Rihanna looks gorgeous and usual while Eminem sounds angry as usual lol. Anyway, if you havent already check out the video for "Love the Way You Lie" below.

New Album: Fantasia "Back to Me"

So Fantasia's "Back to Me" album has finally come out today. I actually previewed the album on itunes last week and it sounds pretty amazing. In promotion of her new masterpiece, Fantasia appeared on Good Morning America this morning. She performed her lead single "Bittersweet" which was another electrifying performance. Along with me being a fan of her music, I am such a fan of her live performances.

She also did an interview after the performance and of course she spoke on all the hype surrounding her suicide attempt. Very sad situation but I guess her experience can be a lesson to everyone. Yes things get tough in life but nobody said life was going to be easy. No one is perfect and everyone goes through something so just know that your not the only one. Life is so short and full of so many lessons. That's why I believe it's so important for us as people to come together and uplift one another opposed to putting eachother down. You never know what people are going through. But anyways, enough of me running of at the mouth lol. Webisode: Anacostia

Just a few days ago I watched Season 1 of this webisode I found online called "Anacostia." It's a show based out of DC and there is nothing but drama! lol. Throwback of the Day

TLC was my group back in the day. Well actually they still are one of my favorite groups. I remember back in 99' when they performed "No Scrubs" and I was blown away. They always brought their A game to their performances. Especially on the little dance breaks that they were known for. So I just wanted to take ya'll back for about 4 minutes with this classic TLC performance of "No Scubs" at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. Enjoy :)

Get in Top Notch Shape!

So throughout this blog I'm always talking about celebrities who I think are considered "Top Notch." But know that being Top Notch does not mean that you have to be a celebrity. A lot of us see these celebrities on TV and admire them for their good looks and sexy body's. Ladies I know you saw that new Ciara video "Ride", and Fellas I know you saw Trey Songz on the cover of Vibe (mmmhmmmm dont say you didnt cause I know ya did lol). What you don't see is the hard work that these celebrities may be putting into the gym. Being Top Notch definitely starts from the inside, HOWEVER, feeling good on the outside makes the rest a bit easier. What I'm trying to say is GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS ON GO TO THE GYM! lol....You don't even have to go to a gym, there are plenty of workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Shoot, you can go to Wal-Mart and get a fitness ball for $10 and maybe a set of dumbells for $15. You only get one body so lets take care of it!





Every so often I'll talk about an exercise that I do either at home or at the gym that may help you. So for the first fitness tip I am going to talk about the basic sit-up. Extra fat in the stomach area is a problem for many people. And it's understandable since thats where the majority of our food goes. But yea, what I use to do my sit-ups is the body ball, which I purchased for walmart for 10 bucks. Everyone is on a different fitness level, but even if your just doing 10 or 15 sit ups a day at least your doing something. So take some initiative and be a Top Notch Guy/Girl and start getting that stomach together.

Top Notch Guy of the Moment: Jason Derulo

So I kind of just started getting into Jason Derulo. Mr. "In My Head" was born in Miami, Florida (one of my favorite places). I didn't realize he was born in 89' though. Damn I feel old. I was only born a year prior but still! lmao...Anyways, I'm starting to like him because his music is really catchy and definitely radio friendly. In addition to that, I saw him a couple weeks ago performing on some awards show (I forgot which one) and he is actually a pretty good performer. You definitely see a huge Michael Jackson influence in his live showings. It's always good to take notes from the greats BUT my only criticism to him is that maybe he should hold back on some of his MJ moves because to be a great artist you need something that sets you a part from the rest. Something different, not just another MJ clone because thats been done already. But yea, he definitely has potential and seems like a cool dude too (I saw him on MTV's, When I Was 17). So show Mr. Derulo some love and get into his music. For those who have absoloutely no idea who I'm talking about, check out his music video for "Watcha Say" below. Enjoy :)

Nice Outfit Usher!

This is random but I saw this picture of Usher and really liked his lil outfit. Very simple but very nice :) O yea, he has a new song out too called "DJ Got Us Falling In Love." It's a cool song. I guess he saw the success of my fav, "OMG" and decided to do another pop track. More power to ya!

Fantasia Shut it Dowwwnnnn!!

Mya's Back!...And with a New Hair Color

So now that Dancing with the Stars is over, Mya is coming back with some new music. Hopefully she can actually get an album out this time because who knows what happened last time in 2007. But yea, she has a song called "Love is the Answer." I actually really like the song. She's going down the same lane as Kelly Rowland and doing a dance techno type of album. BTW, what do you all think of Mya's new blonde hair color? Ok, I can't lie, at first I hated it! lol. But now I actually think its kind of cute. I like how its dark underneath oppose to the whole thing being blonde. But also I think its a fun new look to go with her fun new sound :)

Ciara Webisode

So today I saw online that episode one of Ciara's webisode has surfaced. I guess she decided to start it to promote her latest effort, "Basic Instinct." It was really a good watch actually. It basically shows her performing a few of her hits. I must say that I have always been a CiCi fan and even though her voice isn't the strongest she is such a good performer. She's more of a Janet Jackson type anyway, you tend to watch her to see her dance more so than sing. So yea, if you have 20 minutes to spare then check out episode one of Ciara's webisode below.

So my favorite girls, RichGirl is back with a new song titled, "Swagger RIght". I first heard it yesterday on 92Q while I was driving to Wal-Mart. All I have to say is that this song is the business. I love it. All the girls can sing but there is something about Lyndriette's voice that I just love. I just love the tone of her voice and her swag is turned on everytime she sings.
